“If you own your home, we can help you”

Key Inspection Service offers a  wide range of services for the Home Owner to choose from. Let our experience work for you. Steven Stafford has over 20 years experience in the construction field and has been personally responsible for the construction of over 500 residential units, most in the southern New Jersey area. We understand the local market, and will put that to good use on your behalf.
Below is a brief list of some of the ways our services are just what you may have been looking for.

In addition to the inspection services described elsewhere on this site,
Key Inspection Service is proud to offer the following:

Home Seller Pre-Listing Inspections: This is a valuable tool for those who are thinking about selling their home or have their home on the market. We can help you get the most for your home when it is sold. We can also help you generate more interest in your home by marketing it as   “Move In Certified”   a designation exclusive to Inspectors belonging to the National Association of Certified Home Inspectors.

Builders Warranty Inspections: Have you recently moved into a newly constructed home? Did you know that most of the original builders warranty expires after 1 year? Some people believe to their home is covered by a 10 year warranty but fail to realize that this warranty is only intended to cover major structural issues and will do nothing to protect them from things such as: roof leaks, plumbing leaks, faulty installations, poor workmanship, etc. Don’t let your first year in your new home pass without a proper year end inspection by a qualified Home Inspector.

New Home Construction Inspections: If you are having a new home built for you, consider having Key Inspection Service conduct progress inspections on your behalf. Here are some good reasons for this. Some people mistakenly believe that because their new home has been inspected by the local building department, the work that has been completed is fine. This is rarely the case. What most people don’t know is that the building codes are is a set of minimum standards, meaning that the work completed that “meets code requirements” is just that, the minimum allowed by law. Is your builder charging you the minimum? I didn’t think so.  Another thing most people don’t know is that the local building department only inspects the home at certain stages of the construction and has almost no say in issues regarding workmanship. A lot of things can and do get overlooked, most often these are related to the Manufacturers Installation Instructions. If the recommended installation instructions are not followed, the manufacturer will not honor their warranty. Who will be there on your behalf to make sure thing are done right? Key Inspection Service will be.

New Home Pre-Planning and Estimating:
Are you considering having a new home built for you? If so consider
Key Inspection Service for help in the pre-planning and cost estimating aspects of your goals. Let our experience in building new construction benefit you by avoiding the pitfalls common to this complicated process. We can also assist you in forming a realistic budget to ensure you get the home you want at a price you can afford.
Are you already considering a builder for your home? Let us help you with the selection upgrade process. Often times builders offer a low starting or entry level price and charge outrageous prices for options. Let us help you get the most for your money. Why spend $30,000 to $50,000 for your builder to add a finished basement or sun room when you can get the same or better on the open market for half the cost? Why pay the builder $150 to $200 per recessed light fixture when the market rate for these items is less than half? These are the things Key Inspection Service can do for you, just ask our satisfied clients.
